Hear what our employees have got to say about inclusion at EA!
Being a part of the Inclusion Guild is very important to me even though I am still finding my “contribution comfort zone”. However, I can summarize what impact I would like to have here at Electronic Arts by saying this: A time from now, many of my juniors at EA will be consistently recognized for excellence in all areas of their responsibility within our great company. My satisfaction will come when they then turn to reflect on where they learned the definition of leadership and humility; That they will think of me.
Diversity is important to me because it is my identity; my uniqueness and experiences are what make me, me. I am grateful that EA encourages me and my peers to celebrate who we are, it is this appreciation and support of difference that the world needs to grow and truly attain peace.
EA is a company that understands that success comes from diversity. It’s only when we accept and respect what makes us different individuals do we understand how we can come together as a whole. The Dead Space franchise has a rich universe filled with culture and backstory because the team that built it has a rich universe filled with culture and backstory.
In the same manner that no single discipline has a monopoly on relevant issues, no single background, experience or perspective can lend itself to optimally achieving a goal. It can, however, lead to working harder for a subpar result. At its core, Diversity & Inclusion has the multidimensional, interdisciplinary depth of knowledge vital to naturally generate optimum results, and EA provides a common ground for this collaboration to be practiced.
I’m passionate about Inclusion because I’m a walking contradiction. I’m a ‘hard core ’gamer, mom, sports fanatic, music buff, cat AND dog lover, and I do not fit into any typical category or box. It’s refreshing to be at a company that doesn’t force me into pink bows, values unique ideas and different perspectives and encourages us all to be ourselves.
D&I at EA is formed from what the EA workers have shaped it to be, and not a mandate handed down for us to follow.
There is power in bringing together unique experiences, perspectives, and passions - at EA our many voices make us stronger.
I am passionate about D&I at EA because this is something that affects everyone personally. It is great to work at a company that recognizes this challenge and has a group in place to help. One of my proudest moments at PopCap/EA was marching in the Pride Parade this year along with 75 employees who support this great cause!
PopCap and EA both have a dedicated passion towards diversity and inclusion with their employees ...
