Who I Am
I am a Pacific Northwest-er. Growing up on the West Coast, I have been fortunate to call Vancouver my home for nearly 20 years. I feel lucky being able to work in such a beautiful city and be so close to the ocean and mountains that fuel my active lifestyle.
My career began in Vancouver’s entertainment industry in 1995, wearing several hats over the years ranging from production coordinator to Marketing and Sales Manager in various Canadian film production companies. In 2007 I entered the world of game development working on Need for Speed ProStreet with the Environments team. Later, managing the Audio team for Need for Speed Undercover, I became a career manager for Need for Speed artists. In February of 2009 I was hired as a project manager for the central Core Technology team within the EA SPORTS label. In 2011 I transitioned into Audioworks, EA SPORTS’ central audio group, where I am currently a Development Director.
What I Do
Audioworks is a centralized audio team for the EA SPORTS label. Our group provides all the audio for all EA SPORTS games. My job is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Audioworks team and to make sure we have enough time and resources to provide award-winning audio for all of our titles. I work with audio leads and game teams to ensure all needs are met to deliver on time and on budget. In addition, I manage the Audioworks budget, career plan for my team and assist in driving the direction of our group, aligning with my creative leaders and department head.
My days are varied, and no two days are the same, but one thing is consistent: they are busy and the days go by fast. When I’m not planning for current projects, I’m planning for the future. I meet regularly with my team and direct reports, as well as with game team, finance and HR partners. About six times a year I travel to other studios to meet with our employees and partners in other locations.
I enjoy my job and I hope to be part of the Audioworks team for many years to come. In this industry change is inevitable and EA is focusing heavily on growing our digital business model. My future goals are to upgrade and enhance my knowledge of this digital model to grow as a professional and help my team understand the strategies and tactics to drive change.
