When I joined EA, I was a student studying Computer Science at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. My studies are still ongoing in parallel with my job at EA. My professional experience was very limited, so I decided to do something fun for the summer and, you know, earn some well deserved money. And so began my journey...
Getting Your Start with EA
My journey set off in the summer of 2014, when I joined EA as a Quality Assurance Tester. I was assigned to the FIFA project, beginning my one and a half years of interaction with the game.In April, I applied and was accepted as a System Administration Intern in what was then the LiOn SysOps team.
Working at EA
As weeks went by, I was fascinated by the things I was learning every day and by the knowledge I gained. This motivated me to discover even more things and assimilate as much information as possible. At the end of my internship I was given the chance to continue working within the team, an opportunity which I took without blinking an eye. I was eager to take on the challenge that came with it.
I said it before and I will continue to say that what has struck me the most in the time I spent here is the people I’ve met and had the opportunity to work with. From Quality Assurance colleagues to leads, from fellow interns to Development Directors, I am grateful I have had the chance to meet and work with them. I thank them for all the valuable things they’ve taught me and for the fun times we have spent together.
I am grateful for the opportunity EA has given me to grow inside the company and to continuously develop my professional skills and knowledge base. It has given me a career direction, one I did not even know I wanted one year ago. It gave me the opportunity to improve my social skills because of the many types of interactions I have had with co-workers, but most of all, it has taught me that working can be extremely fun.
