Who I Am
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2013 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. As a kid, I was an avid video gamer. I’ll never forget how excited I was the first time I watched my brother play the original Prince of Persia on DOS! In recent years, I’ve shifted from gaming to hobbies like running, reading, hiking, making music, and traveling the world. I haven’t forgotten my roots, though, -- the magic of gaming is what inspires me to work harder every day.
What I Do
I work as a Software Engineer on the EADP Mobile team to improve our client SDK, which is used in EA’s mobile games for features like in-app purchases, push notifications and telemetry. It can get pretty crazy working across all the constantly changing mobile platforms, but I love being able to continually learn on the job.
What is My Day Like?
I spend the morning catching up on emails and support tickets reported by QA or game teams. I then sync up with the rest of my team and afterwards we’ll get lunch together. We’ve gone anywhere from the café downstairs to all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ in Sunnyvale (yum!). The afternoon is reserved for coding, fixing bugs, writing documentation, or discussing design solutions with my fellow coworkers… interspersed with extreme foosball challenges.
Where Am I Going?
I’m not sure yet how long I’d like to stay at EA, but I’m reaching the end of my first year and I still love it here. I want to continue learning and building my skills as an engineer, and I want to contribute to bigger and more impactful projects here. I’m also passionate about technology-related education (particularly for girls), and I’ve been volunteering and working in that realm since my early years of college -- so ideally I’ll be heading in that direction in the future!
