Who I Am
My name is Florian and I work at EA Germany in Cologne. I grew up in a small town near Cologne and started my working life in 2001 as an apprentice at EA immediately after getting my school exit examination. So EA was and is still my first employer
As gaming - and especially FIFA - has always been my passion, it was a dream come true getting a job at EA and working with the games I grew up with. I still live in the small town near Cologne, which now includes my wife and my two kids.
As it is custom as a German to be a big soccer fan, I recommend everyone who’s travelling to Cologne to visit the local soccer club 1. FC Koeln and enjoy the amazing atmosphere in the stadium. An example of 50.000 people singing the hymn of the Cologne soccer club can be found here!
What I Do
My job as Key Account Manager includes a wide scope of functions, including meeting with retailers’ contacts, calculating a bunch of numbers, figures, and digits, and taking part in the creation of a retailer’s digital transformation. Being a Key Account Manager at EA is not a one man job. Teamwork is fundamental to meet our targets and the company targets.
What is My Day Like?
My usual day starts with a quick chat with my key account colleagues discussing current challenges, issues and new tasks. Every day differs from the other and tasks are constantly changing.
Currently we are in the middle of having a lot of annual meetings with our retailer and we’re discussing and planning the next fiscal year which is upon us. We are delighted to have such a great line-up of new games in the upcoming months.
Furthermore, as part of the company’s digital transition, we are leading projects that focus on the transformation of the retailer’s point-of-sale. I am really excited seeing what the future will bring to us.
Where Am I Going?
I am in the fortunate position to work within a great tEAm here in Cologne and have awesome colleagues around me. I am really happy doing the things I do.
