Before EA, I was studying Computing Science at Simon Fraser University. I was born in Taiwan but have lived in Vancouver for over twenty years. I am a dog lover and have two Shiba Inus with big personalities. In terms of hobbies, I love to travel and am somewhat of a foodie, which is one of the many reasons I love my beautiful city with its abundance and variety of authentic cuisines and creative fusion restaurants. I’m also a hockey fan (go Canucks go!) and enjoy mysteries and puzzles.
Getting Your Start with EA
I came across EA’s posting as I was applying for my last co-op term in my 4th year. Honestly, I almost didn’t apply because I didn’t focus on graphics and multimedia and had naively thought, “that’s what game making at EA’s all about, right?”. I’m so glad that I did apply and was very fortunate to have been invited to join the Online Technology Group which developed game servers and SDKs to enable and enhance online gameplay. The work was challenging and satisfying, the people were talented and fun. I enjoyed my co-op term so much that I just didn’t want to leave, and my team has been putting up with me ever since.
Working at EA
The best thing about working at EA is definitely the people. Every day, I’m surrounded by super talented people that take pride in the work they do and are passionate about delivering high quality products and services. Also, there are always new challenges around the corner so it never gets boring- Not even after 11 years on the same team! Our fantastic studio is always buzzing with energy, activity and fun. My favorite is being able to play beach volleyball on the sand court during the summer months.
