You have a strong programming background and a passion for video games. Software Engineers at EA develop the next generation of video games and deliver creative solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. EA offers a wide array of intellectually demanding challenges, including (but not limited to): 

  • Gameplay Engineers – Compel gamers into ‘one more play’ by focusing on the strategy and “feel” of the game
  • Build Engineers – Ensure a bug-free game by ensuring the consistency and validity of game builds and assets
  • Front-End Engineers – Connect the front-end flash screen assets to the back end of the game
  • Online Engineers – Write the code that allows players to compete against each other online
  • Rendering Engineers – From complex 3D math to hardware shading, drive the process of generating an image from a model by means of computer programs
  • Mobile Games Engineers – Contribute to original mobile games and help port existing games from consoles to mobile phones
  • Tools Engineers – Write the scripting tools that allow designers to specify actions for the computer-controlled characters
  • Animation Engineers – Work with Animators, Physics Engineers and Artificial Intelligence Engineers to optimize animation engine programming
  • Audio Engineers – Create atmosphere, mood and unforgettable moments in gaming by artistically programming sound into games
  • Physics Engineers – From collision detection to complex physical reactions, ensure realism and believability in the game’s physics

  • Pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Experience programming in C, C++, C#, Assembly, and experience with Object Oriented Design preferred
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology, platforms, and game areas
  • Highly creative with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Passion for video games and one or more of the areas of focus listed above
