Apex Legends™: Community Made Summer Stickers

Grab your racquets, swim gear and make a little commotion for MiyanEatWorld AKA Maddie AKA the amazing community artist who created the sticker pack you can collect starting today!

Maddie is a long-time Apex Legends™ community member and artist, who spends her days creating incredible art pieces from her home in the Philippines. She’s been grinding her way in Apex Legends since just after launch and mostly mains Crypto, though lately she’s been playing a lot of Conduit and Revenant (reborn, of course). When Revenant first made his debut, she made a little doodle of our edgy murder robot and took off running with her art of Apex Legends. Kind of wild to think about how Revenant started her spiral into dozens (if not hundreds) of Apex Legends related art pieces. Here’s a little blurb from Maddie herself:

“Hello! Maddie, aka MiyanEatWorld, a digital illustrator based in the Philippines! You may have seen my art in passing around social media, and especially if you've been playing Apex Legends. I've been playing the game for as long as it's been out, and have made several fanworks of the characters over the course of its years. Watching the progression of this game throughout its time has been fascinating - being able to see the labors of several creative minds - artists, writers, voice actors, animators, etc., - come to life, and to be able to engage with this ever-evolving world as a player, has been an absolute treat. I'm looking forward to see the kind of creative direction this game is able to go towards in the future!”

We’re stoked to have Maddie’s artwork in the game again. Here's a bit more insight from the artist herself on her hard work, stickers, and more:

What sticker was the hardest to work on?

I didn't exactly quantify each sticker in terms of difficulty while I was producing them, so this is a little tricky. If I have to choose, I would say Catalyst's due to her pose and trying to make sure the ferrofluid isn't obscuring the pose itself. While it's less of a specific-sticker type of response, I also sometimes find it challenging to decide how I intend to simplify all the smaller, intricate pieces in a Legend's design (i.e. Crypto's wires, Bloodhound's ornaments, everything about Pathfinder, etc). Trying to strike that balance between "simple enough to fit my art style" and "detailed enough to respect the character's design" is a mental dance! 

What concept came to you easiest?

Octane's! When I was given the theme, I was immediately compelled to check if horse riding was a relevant sport in the theme. Felt like I was being possessed, almost. I feel like Fencing Wattson sorta wrote itself too haha.

How did you determine which stickers would be Legendary?

Mostly based on the proverbial vibes! There wasn't exactly a strict criteria that I followed when deciding which stickers would be of a higher rarity beyond "would it make sense if it was sparkly?" One thing I will say though: Equestrian Octane (or Horsetane as I would like to call it) needed to be legendary-tier. 

What stickers are you looking forward to seeing in the game?

Nessie ballin'—lil guy is gonna be on every healing item I have!! Maybe Newcastle too, so I can always see his smile while I'm fighting for my life in the game. I also gotta rep my girl Conduit!! 

What sticker is your favorite and why?

I would have to say Hot Dog Vendor Revenant would be my top choice! In a sticker series based around summer sports, the literal murder bot being relegated to carrying hotdogs all day is absolutely hilarious to think about.
