COLLEGE FOOTBALL 25 - WEAR AND TEAR TIPS
Understanding Wear and Tear and Composure is pivotal for success in College Football 25. Listen to Eric Rayweather break down how these two features can strongly influence your success on the field.
COMPOSURE
If you want to check your composure at the beginning of the game:
- Press the Left Trigger or L2 button.
- Hold up on the right stick.
If your team is on the road and in a tough place to play, you'll see your entire team is ice cold (indicated by blue). Snowflake icon indicates your players are really cold and under pressure.
STRATEGY TO WARM UP YOUR TEAM
Positive plays increase individual composure; yards gained and team touchdowns raise overall team composure.
- Start with easy plays like options, jet sweeps, and screens to gain yards.
Cold players have reduced ratings, and composure is tied to play archetype:
- Scrambling QB: Better ball security when composed.
- Field General: Improved accuracy when composed.
After scoring, players start heating up, indicated by turning red. What you want to do is keep this indicator in the red because this is when your players are performing at their best. A flame icon under a player means they are at peak performance.
THERE ARE SOME ABILITIES YOU CAN USE TO IMPROVE COMPOSURE
- Road Dog: Reduces composure loss on the road.
- Fan Favorite: Gains composure and heats up quicker.
WEAR AND TEAR
To view wear and tear:
- Hold the Left Trigger or L2 button.
- Hold down on the right stick.
At the beginning of the game, all players are in good condition and you’ll see 5 green bars on their left side. As the players start to take hits those bars will go down and the ratings of the players will start to decrease in the depth chart for attribute hits due to wear and tear.
A FEW TIPS TO MANAGE WEAR AND TEAR
- Quarterbacks are crucial and prone to hits. Monitor them closely and protect them.
- Avoid unnecessary hits; slide or go out of bounds to protect players.
- Playing recklessly increases wear and tear.
- Hits impact wear and tear for both offense and defense.
- A high toughness rating helps resist wear and tear.
- Risk increases with accumulated hits.
- Injuries can happen at any time, regardless of wear and tear.
- Workhorse Ability (for running backs) limits wear and tear. Your player will withstand more hits, reducing wear and tear impact.
RECOVERY
- Wear and tear replenishes during timeouts, end of quarters, and halftime.
- Sub out players for breathers, use timeouts wisely, and manage player usage to prevent excessive wear and tear.
