June + July Monthly Updates
Check out what’s new in PvZ3 this month!
PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES™
Hey Neighborville residents!
With both June and now also July in our rear-view mirror, let’s take a look back at some of the cool updates in Plants vs. Zombies 3 these past two months!
A lot of behind-the-scenes tweaks and changes continue to be made to the experience in PvZ3 as the team works on solidifying these earlier moments in the game. Sometimes this can involve small edits to narrative scenes, to even overhauling key features or levels that may help players get into matches faster, or understand core concepts in a more natural way. These smaller, incremental changes during our soft launch are important to prioritize to ensure that players entering the game have the best experience they can.
Along with these updates, we’ve also released even more levels to play and enjoy - including some much anticipated answers to what is going on with Nate, Patrice, and Crazy Dave! And of course, we have a brand new plant and zombie!
We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of our new plant and zombie this month! After a long awaited return, Landscaper Zombie makes his mobile debut from the Garden Warfare series! Sporting his iconic Weed Buster; capable of one-shotting the plant directly in front of it! Be cautious about which units you choose to place on which tiles when you see a Landscaper Zombie coming; sometimes a sacrifice is the only way out!
We also welcomed our purple-capped Puff-Shroom friend: who entered the neighborhood in June! Puff-Shroom does just that and shoots short-range puffs of gas to defend your lawn! Puff-Shroom’s usefulness on night levels is no joke: with a 0 Sun cost, it might be your only choice in the darkness!
We know players are looking forward to getting their hands on the new “Pick-a-Plant” feature, and we’re pleased to let everyone know that this is coming much sooner than you’d think! There are lots of considerations to keep in mind when implementing a new feature like this, and we want to make sure we’re being thoughtful when introducing such a huge change to the design of many of the levels! We’ll dive into more information about the thought process behind the feature in an upcoming blog.
As always, thank you for your continued support not only on PvZ3 but also for Plants vs. Zombies as a franchise. We’re looking forward to continuing to roll out new features and events that will be arriving in the coming months. We can’t wait to share more about our upcoming plans and appreciate everyone coming along on this journey with us as we build an even better PvZ experience! Stay tuned!
Plant on!
