HOW TO BROADCAST PHRASES AND EMOTES WITH THE CHAT WHEEL IN LAKESHORE ONLINE

Celebrate, commiserate, and collaborate in Lakeshore Online using the new Chat Wheel.

F1 2021 Header

Celebrate, commiserate, and collaborate in Lakeshore Online using the new Chat Wheel. Tear up the streets and broadcast Phrases and Emotes to let other street racers know who’s boss, work together to complete Linkup objectives, or ask for assistance when the cops come calling.

Word on the street: Hit up other players to start a playlist, ask for help in a cop chase, or give instructions in a Linkup.

Keep up the convo:

Volume 3 introduces Linkups, a collaborative free-roam activity that challenges racers to work together to complete shared objectives. Use the Chat Wheel to get organized, calling for a teammate's assistance in the heat of battle, or letting the community know you’re on your way to join the next round. Taunting pursuing cops or rival races as you speed off in a cloud of smoke is also a valid use of the wheel of course.

Word on the street: When a nearby player sends a message a directional SFX can be heard to locate the player.

Open up:

Open the Chat Wheel by pressing “R3” or using the “0” keyboard input and then select the expression you want to use, holding for 0.5 seconds to lock in your chosen expression. Emotes and text sent using the Chat Wheel will appear above your car and you can view the communication output on the notification system on the left side of the HUD. Use contextual presets to give commands in certain events, like signaling others to draft behind you in a Linkup. These presets offer fast communication as you focus on completing shared objectives or are mid-battle in the heat of a tight race.

Word on the street: Tired of the chatter? You can customize and deactivate the Chat Wheel in the Settings Menu.

Stay Connected:

The Chat Wheel features 50 phrases and 25 emotes arranged into 4 categories; Connect, Socialize, Cooperate, and React. Connect empowers you to get organized in free-roam, help others, and party up. Cooperate allows you to collaborate with others in the heat of the moment by sending concise event-specific information to your squad and bolstering teamwork during Linkups. Socialize provides options for expressing your thoughts on their surroundings and connect with other players. React features callouts and taunts to stunt on the competition, react to the chaos around you, and reply to other racers in the city. Customize your Chat Wheel in the settings menu to remove or replace Phrases and Emotes and give yourself quick access to the communications you use the most.

So next time you hit the streets, let your friends know you’re there!
