Chris Weidman’s time at the top of the Middleweight division was a gauntlet of Brazil’s best. From dethroning and defending against divisional GOAT Anderson Silva, solving the dangerous riddle of Lyoto Machida, followed by a first-round finish of the always ferocious Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 — Weidman worked for every title he earned.

After dispatching Hall-of-Famer José Aldo to win the Featherweight belt, and then repeating the feat six months later to defend his new throne, Max “Blessed” Holloway continued on his roll of dominance. Taking on the durable and dangerous Brian Ortega, Holloway battered the challenger over the course of four rounds before a doctor’s stoppage extended his win streak to thirteen.

Fighting Olympic Freestyle Wrestling silver medalist and certified freak-of-nature Yoel Romero is no enviable task for anyone. At UFC 225, it was Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker’s second encounter in as many fights.
